6 miles south of San Antonio, just past the village of Santa Cruz, is the Rio Blanco Waterfall Park, a popular stop for locals and visitors. A small octagonal sign on the roadside points the direction to the entrance of the Park. The jungle-surrounded trail is only a mile long from the road. Vehicles are able to drive down the trail, though it may be a bit difficult for large vehicles to turn around. At the end of the trail, two short flights of stone steps descend to a wide, flat platform.
The Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve covers an area of approximately 125 square kilometers and includes fourteen sand and mangrove cayes along the southernmost tip of the Belize Barrier Reef, nearly 40 miles due east of Punta Gorda.
If you want to inject your vacations with unforgettable adventures you have to visit Lime Caye in Belize. It is specifically located in the Sapodilla Caye marine reserve considered a protected area since 1996. On this coast, snorkeling is the ideal sport because of the barrier reef that characterizes it, which is home to a diversity of plant and animal species.
Head to the Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch National Park and Archaeological Reserve for a memorable kayaking adventure. Hike along a short jungle trail then explore the cave network under the Maya Mountains as you paddle a stable, sit-on-top kayak.
