The name may be slightly misleading -- there are no hot springs at
Aguacaliente Wildlife Sanctuary -- this protected area is a great destination for birdwatcher and lovers of nature attraction in general.
Three freshwater lagoons, two hot springs, limestone hills, scrub, broadleaf forests, and marshlands make up this
reserve, which is carefully cared for by 10 different local communities.
Set on 5,492 acres of lowland, the
sanctuary is set up with boardwalks and trails, but it can also be explored by canoe. It is best loved by birders.
