The owners of the hotel both separately spent many holidays in the village of Placencia. It was quite different back 50 years or so as you can imagine, but the joy that it held for them back then remains in their hearts today. They love the village, the people and the feeling of just “belonging”.
This is what their Belizean Nirvana Boutique Hotel offers. How did they come to build a hotel in Placencia? Well a few years ago they started a tour business with two very good friends, Karen and Hubert (Tuca) Young. Then the opportunity to buy a piece of land was presented to them with the help of Dwayne Young, Karen and Tuca’s son.
Their original plan was to build a house for them to spend the holidays and eventually live in once they retired. So if you ask them, did they know that they would go into the hotel business? The answer is no, it was not on their radar. It was one of those things that just happened, come together, fit, an “AHA” moment, then it became a reality.
Belizean Nirvana offers five individually furnished suites/studios each with wide verandas that are separated by removable lattice partitions for privacy. At Nirvana, you are on the beach, and after you have enjoyed your swimming in their pristine waters, you can rinse off with the outdoor showers available before you step onto your veranda to relax and enjoy your hammock.
Nirvana has a rooftop deck that gives you a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea to the east, the beach in front where the surfs never stops breaking and the Maya Mountainsto the west bathed in a wonderful blue-green background.
