The transfer begins with a 6:00am pickup at your hotel in Tikal National Park. You will be transported approximately 40 minutes to Ixlu crossing, where you will change buses to continue the journey.
During the trip, you will receive a Migratory Form to complete Belize entry procedures. The drive continues for another 90 minutes to the Guatemala-Belize border where you will complete immigration and customs formalities on foot. All luggage must be carried personally.
At the border, there are shops offering drinks and snacks. The immigration process includes visiting both the Guatemala Migration office and walking about 100 meters to Belize Migration.
If any traveler encounters immigration delays, a 20-minute waiting period applies before proceeding. The journey resumes with a 20-minute drive to San Ignacio for passenger drop-off and pick-up.
From San Ignacio, the trip continues for 2 hours to Belize City, arriving at the San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi Terminal. Luggage will be handed over by the driver on arrival. Nearby are restaurants and shops.
At the terminal, you will check in at the Atlanta Express office to obtain ferry boarding passes. The ferry ride to San Pedro Ambergris Island takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
