Depart from San Ignacio for a 45-minute van ride to Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave Park Reserve. Suited for small groups, the tour combines hiking, swimming, and cave exploration guided by experts.

Description
Upon arrival, groups are divided into small parties of six per guide. After a safety briefing and gear fitting, the tour begins at the first of three river crossings. The deepest crossing uses a rope guide, while the others are ankle-deep.
A 45-minute hike leads to the cave entrance. The guide swims across the river for a safety demonstration before the group follows. Enter the cave by swimming and walking through the main water passage toward a dry chamber.
Visitors remove shoes before entering the dry chamber to protect archaeological artifacts on the cave floor. Learn about ancient rituals involving offerings and human remains, including 15 skeletons uncovered by archaeologists.
The final chamber is accessed by climbing a ladder to view fully preserved skeletal remains. The exit is via the same route, followed by a hike back to the parking area. The tour concludes with lunch before returning to San Ignacio.
