Description
The Community Baboon Sanctuary, located about 25 miles west of Belize City, protects the Black howler monkeys of the Belize River valley. This tour provides close encounters with the monkeys while walking shaded rainforest trails. Along the way, you learn about medicinal plants used in local herbal remedies. Before the walk, a knowledgeable guide shares the sanctuary's history at a small museum onsite. The total duration, including round-trip transportation from Belize City, is approximately 3.5 hours.
