The sanctuary is a natural habitat for over 574 bird species, including the majestic Jabiru Stork, various egrets and herons, and the dazzling Jacana. Your adventure begins with a 50-minute drive from Belize City, ensuring an early start to catch the birds at their most active times—early mornings or late afternoons. Upon arrival, you'll meet your trained bird guide, who will lead you through the sanctuary. Navigate the lagoon on a small boat, offering you an up-close view of the diverse birdlife and other wildlife such as crocodiles, green and spiny tail iguanas, and howler monkeys.
