See the light house, the Belize sign, the wealthy portions of the city called the Kings Park zone, the school district, the hospital, the central Bank of Belize, and the prime minister’s home.
Drive north for about one hour to the Mayan temples. On your way, see the different ecosystems of flora and fauna. Altun Ha was an important Mayan religious and trading center dating back to 200 BC. The site was first excavated in 1963 and researchers believe that it was once home to 10,000 people.
At the site, enjoy a guided tour of the entire ancient city, learn about its history and construction style of the buildings. Travel back in time and try to imagine how the Mayan people lived.
